Immigration Consultant / Assistant

Location: Calgary, AB or Burnaby, BC
Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, On-call, Casual
Hourly Wage: $18.00 – $28.00 (commensurate with experience)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
About Us:
NewStart Canada Education & Immigration is a growing and client-focused organization committed to supporting individuals through their education and immigration journeys in Canada. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Immigration Consultant / Assistant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Provide administrative and client support, including appointment scheduling, responding to inquiries, and maintaining organized client files
• Conduct initial assessments to determine client eligibility and advise on suitable immigration pathways
• Prepare, review, and submit a range of immigration applications (e.g., LMIA, work permits, study permits, permanent residency, sponsorships)
• Collect, verify, and organize client documentation to ensure compliance and completeness
• Monitor application progress and provide regular updates to clients
• Manage client billing, including issuing invoices and following up on payments
• Stay informed about changes in Canadian immigration laws, policies, and procedures
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions and documentation
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
• Professional and respectful demeanor with clients and colleagues
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages (e.g., French, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, Arabic) are considered assets
• Prior experience in areas such as temporary/permanent residency, LMIA and exemptions, or business immigration is preferred
Education and Experience:
• College diploma or university degree required
• RCIC designation is considered an asset
• 1–2 years of experience in Canadian immigration services is preferred
