Location: Vancouver, BC, Full-Time (40hrs/week), Office-Based Role

Salary: $75,000 per annum

The Interior Design Project Manager will support JD's expansion within Canada by leading store design projects from concept to completion. Reporting to the Associate Director of Property in Vancouver and collaborating closely with the Global Design Team based in Manchester, UK. This role requires a deep understanding of interior architecture, retail store design, and international coordination. The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in delivering high-quality retail design solutions, with the ability to tailor global design principles to the Canadian market.
Job Description Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and execution of store projects across Canada, ensuring alignment with global design guidelines.
• Coordinate projects from initial design brief to store completion, managing timelines and deliverables.
• Attend strategy meetings to gather design requirements and project objectives.
• To ensure successful project outcomes, collaborate with internal teams, including Real Estate, Project Management, Retail, Merchandising, Marketing, IT, and Health & Safety.
• Develop creative and detailed design solutions, incorporating client feedback and global design principles.
• Create and present comprehensive 2D and 3D design packages using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite for stakeholder approval.
• Coordinate with external agencies, including architects, MEP, and structural engineers, and permit departments to obtain statutory approvals.
• Conduct site visits to survey and verify design implementation, capturing all necessary information for accurate documentation.
• Manage space planning and merchandise layouts to meet design briefs and operational requirements.
• Produce detailed plans, elevations, and site-specific designs, ensuring compliance with construction and shop-fitting standards.
• Collaborate with the Global Signage & Graphics Team to deliver customized, project-specific designs.
• Ensure project documentation and design specifications, including the Canadian AutoCAD drawing templates, are accurate and up to date.
• Act as a design mentor to junior team members and interns, sharing best practices and technical expertise.


Position Requirements:
• Education & Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.
o Minimum of 4 years' experience in retail interior design, with a focus on project coordination within a commercial environment.
o National or international experience in the apparel and/or footwear industry is highly desirable.
o Project management education or experience is an asset, given the need to coordinate vendors and third-party collaborators during the design and implementation phases.
• Technical Expertise:
o Proven success in managing multiple large-scale design projects across international markets.
o Previous experience in a fast-paced retail design setting, working on high-profile projects and engaging with stakeholders ranging from store managers to CEO.
o Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, including dynamic block creation and precise design documentation.
o Expertise in design software such as AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, 3DS Max, and ARCHICAD.
o Familiarity with Revit and 3D modeling is an asset.

• Skills & Competencies:
o Strong portfolio demonstrating creative retail design solutions and high-quality visual renderings.
o In-depth understanding of Canadian building regulations and permitting procedures.
o Proven ability to design within budget constraints while delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges.
o Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
o Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
o Passionate about sustainable design and innovative construction methods.

• Additional Requirements:
o Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
o Valid passport and full driver’s license.
