Salary: $14.75 hourly for 30 to 44 hours per week

Qualifications:

- Ability to communicate in English and in Japanese orally and in writing is required

- No degree, certificate or diploma is required

- No previous experience as a tour guide is required

Job Duties: 

- Confirm transportation and accommodation reservations;

- Collect administration or entrance fees;

- Coordinate recreation activities for Japanese tourists;

- Describe points of interest in Japanese; 

- Resolve itinerary and other problems by communicating with Japanese tourists in Japanese; 

- Assist clients/guests in handling hotel, airport, and other check-in and check-out procedures;

- Ensure and monitor luggage transfers;

- Develop and deliver commentaries in Japanese;

- Utilize microphones or other communication devices;

- Co-ordinate activities with local tour guides or leaders of performance groups;

- Provide information on tipping customs, currency exchange rates, metric conversion and other details;

- Assist clients/guests with special needs;

- Escort individuals or groups on tours of Toronto or Niagara Falls, waterways and industrial and other establishments;

- Conduct guided tours of museums, gallery exhibitions and historical, heritage and other sites, answer inquiries and provide information
