Intermediate Interior Designer

Location of position:      865 Dundas St W, Toronto, ON M6J 1V6           

Salary:                          $43,000

Permanent, full time (40 hours per week)

Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years relevant experience in an Interior design practice

2 plus year experience/familiarity with industry in Asia, including South Korea and China

Ability to travel to and work in South Korea for short periods

English speaking environment

University degree or college diploma in interior design

• Passionate about design
• Creative approach to problem solving
• Strong design capabilities
• Fully proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Sketch Up
• Ability to manage multiple jobs, keep projects on schedule, and meet tight deadlines
• Experience with fast-paced project schedules
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent Inter-Personal Skills
• Good organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

Position involves the following responsibilities in Toronto, with short periods of assisting with the development of opportunities in South Korea and China, including liaising on design process and formulating presentation strategies

• Defining program requirements
• Establishing design parameters based on client requirements
• Generating overall design concepts
• Formulating presentation strategies
• Maintaining project concept, within budget and time constraints
• Contributing to the development of strong overall design teams
• Strong knowledge of construction and millwork details and materials
• Preparing detailed drawings from field measurement
