Job Details We are a very busy Thai restaurant in Edmonton Alberta. As a cook's helper, you have to work well under pressure, follow instructions closely, and have a strong work ethic. Over time, with experience and training, you may have the opportunity to advance to more senior positions within the kitchen.

Job Description Job Duties:
--Assist in preparing and chopping vegetables, herbs, and other ingredients required for various Thai dishes. This may involve washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients to the desired specifications.
--Aid the chefs and cooks in cooking Thai dishes. This includes tasks like stir-frying, grilling, boiling, and deep-frying. The helper may be responsible for monitoring cooking times and temperatures.
--Help the kitchen staff with fulfilling customer orders, including assembling takeout or dine-in orders and ensuring they are accurate and complete.
--Properly store food items, ensuring that ingredients are stored at the appropriate temperatures to maintain their quality and safety.
--Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes, ensuring they are visually appealing and consistent with the restaurant's standards.
--Help with the management of inventory and stock. This may include restocking ingredients, monitoring expiration dates, and notifying the kitchen manager or chef when supplies need to be replenished.
--Keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean and organized. This involves washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as cleaning countertops and other surfaces.
--Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols, including the proper handling of food, adherence to health codes, and maintaining a safe work environment.
--Be open to learn and improve cooking techniques and gain a better understanding of Thai cuisine. This may involve observing and assisting experienced chefs.
