Royal Academy of Punjab LTD. Is looking to hire a full-time permanent Folk Dance “Giddha” Teacher – for their academy.

In 2012, a group of dedicated arts and Punjabi culture enthusiasts created a professional Bhangra organization. Royal Academy of Punjab continues to raise the platform of Punjabi Folk Arts through quality programming and events as well as collaborations with the broader community to create awareness and opportunities for fusion, exploration, and connections. The academy successfully uses the art form of Bhangra as a creative outlet to promote skills, discipline, physical fitness, and provide team building and leadership initiatives for youth.

JOB DETAILS
Salary: 33.00 hourly
No of hours: 30-40 hours per week including weekends.
Overtime: 49.50/hr after 40 hours per week
Work Term: Permanent full time

Language: English.
Asset: Knowledge of Punjabi language will be considered an asset
Travel Costs: Paid by the employer

Job Description JOB DUTIES:
• Preparing students for competitions, festivals, school concerts and student’s outreach performances
• Teach dance techniques and/or teaching choreography for full length productions as well as showcase style presentations
• Attending the classes and practice rehearsals regularly
• Work one on one and in a group setting to instruct as needed
• Preparing music and costume requirements for competition and special presentations.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
• Participating in events and dance competitions of the academy
• Utilize effective behavior management techniques to promote a productive classroom environment
• Promote a positive attitude when representing the academy at dance competitions, live performances in public events, dance theatres or concert halls.
• Practice and set professional code of conduct at all times and follow all regulations and policies of the academy
