Job Description:



Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
Counsel clients on animal health care, behaviour, nutrition, post-surgical care
Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
Perform vitals on patients for appointments/surgery
Prepare patients for surgery, place IV catheters, drug calculations
Sedation, induction, intubation
Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
Perform blood pressure readings
Perform digital x-rays, including dental x-rays
Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
Provide wound and bandage care
Answer phones

Job Description Requirements:

- Education: Completion of a two or three-year animal health/veterinary technology college program is required

- Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant is required.

- An empathic person who can stay calm under stressful situations

Salary: $21.00- $25.00 hourly, 32- 40 hours per week.

Important Information:

Flexibility on schedule is required. Available shifts Monday to Friday, 7:30 am- 4:30 pm, 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, 9:00 am- 6:00 pm and Saturdays, 8:30 am- 2:00 pm.
