We are seeking a full-time Press Feeder for our North location.
You are personable, team-oriented, and hard-working person with good organizational skills who takes pride in the accuracy of their work. The ability to develop positive working relationships with others and follow detailed instructions is critical to the role.
Our ideal candidate has experience as Press Feeder with commercial printing experience [mandatory]. We will train on specific machines. You should have mechanical skills to troubleshoot issues with equipment and worn parts. This is partially a quality assurance role, so the ability to understand the parameters of each printing job and an eye for detail are essential
General Description
Press Feeders are crucial to ensure the fit and finish of printed goods are done safely, accurately and efficiently. Press Feeder is responsible for directly assisting the Press operator in producing all offset press projects in compliance with job specifications and in accordance with company quality standards and procedures. This is a full-time position.
Our goal is to maintain as much internal production as possible to satisfy the needs of clients and maintain efficient use of time to boost productivity. Accuracy, efficiency and teamwork is key to success in this role.
Job Description
Duties and Key Competencies
Duties may include the following, although not an exhaustive list
• Responsible for operating and maintaining the feeder section of the Press to produce jobs as described on the work orders while interfacing with the Production Manager and the Press Operators.
• Ensure paper is loaded into the feeding-end for running jobs, as well as maintain paper supply throughout the job run.
• Make appropriate adjustments to plates and cylinders which includes but not limited to mounting, removing and cleaning items at end of the press run.
• Perform routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Mix and fill ink foundation and control colour.
• Maintain knowledge of safety requirements of job and equipment; be familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets regarding chemicals used.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Minimum of one year experience in a commercial printing company or equivalent manufacturing industry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical skills, manufacturing experience, and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Experience with commercial sheetfed work preferred.
• Solid understanding of offset lithographic process.
• Able to apply written instructions to machine set-up and maintenance.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends, if necessary.
