Role:
Heavy Duty Mechanics perform major and minor repairs, overhauls and preventive servicing on all types of Ground Service Equipment.
Job Description
Critical performance areas include the following but may vary depending on the
circumstances:
Inspect, service and maintain the equipment, in accordance with company regulations, including changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts.
Diagnose diesel engine malfunctions and making required repairs.
Diagnose Hydraulic and Electrical malfunctions and making required repairs.
Use electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication equipment and other vehicle repair tools and equipment, and operate said tools and machinery in a safe and effective manner.
Fill out inspection, maintenance, and work reports, and record details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures.
Testing the equipment after repair.
Candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and have basic proficiency with computers and diagnostic tools.
Individuals need to be "team players" with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain a customer focused attitude in a demanding, high stress environment.
Working Conditions:
20$ - 34$ per hour depending on experience.
Stable Day Shift schedule but must be available on weekends and holidays for occasional overtime. (In case of urgent repairs)
Repairs will be mostly done indoors but the technician might be asked to do mobile repairs outside.

Requirements:

Be Professional and Respectful.
Hold a valid Driver’s License.
Must have 310S, 310T, OR Red Seal
Hold a valid Heavy-Duty Apprentice or Journeyman Status
The technician must have his own toolbox.
Hydraulics knowledge & experience is a plus.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in any trade.
Able to perform under stress.
No Criminal Records.
Willing to go through extensive Verifications and Training to obtain Airport related certifications and accreditations. (Offered by the company)
