Wage Range: $20-$24/hour, 30-40 hours per week
Job Location: 5490 Ross Street, Vancouver BC V5W 3K9
What you do in the position
• Encourage and assist each child in carrying out daily routines
• Support projects and curriculum-based activities under the leadership of the classroom early childhood educator/supervisor
• Organize space, equipment, and materials for children to use prior to activities, and clean the equipment and the space after activities
• Supervise children for the full duration of daily operation, especially during activities, to ensure the children’s safety
• Observe the children’s behavior and participate with early childhood educators and the supervisor regularly to discuss development progress and identify abnormal behavior for all children
• If necessary, report the children’s abnormal behavior and progress to the parents or guardian.
• Participate in internal development training
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
What you bring
• Post-secondary diploma or above
• Early childhood educator assistant certificate is required
• Experience in childcare is preferred
• Proficiency in English listening and communication
• Reliability, patient, and punctuality
• Attention to details
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral communication
• Valid and clear criminal background check
Certification in these areas is an asset:
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR Certificate
• Food Safe Certification
• Emergency childcare first aid and CPR
