Unitrend Plastics Manufacturing – a Private Corporation with 35+ years in the flexible packaging industry is looking for a full-time (40 hour per week) Maintenance Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager, Production, and General Management to:
1. Minimize equipment downtime due to malfunction
2. Improve and maximize equipment speeds and performance
3. Maximize ROI on assets - reduce lifetime operational cost of the equipment
Duties & Responsibilities
As our Maintenance Manager You will be responsible for establishing a Maintenance & Engineering department, hiring and developing a small team of qualified personnel to:
- Develop and restructure of maintenance programs
- Design SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and track KPIs
- Overseeing the performance of preventive and routine repairs
- Rapid execution of corrective maintenance
- Oversee installation and commissioning of any new machinery
- Manage multiple related projects as may be assigned
- Management of the assets (equipment, parts, tools, and more)
- Manage sub-contractors
The Maintenance Manager will have a key role in our expansion and new equipment installation and move to new facilities

Job Description Requirements for the position:
Academic and Training:
- University degree in engineering (industrial or mechanical)
- Technical Education or Training in Equipment Maintenance
- Additional education in Operations Management is an asset
Professional Experience:
- Several years of experience in the management of maintenance and of equipment installation projects, including flexible packaging manufacturing industry.
- Having direct experience on performing repairs and maintenance of equipment would be highly valuable for the position
- Solid understanding of the operation, engineering and mechanical aspects of equipment for Film Extrusion, Flexo Printing Presses, and all types of Bag Machines including Wicketers and Zipper machines
- Experience in the development of maintenance plans and the management of teams for efficient and timely execution
- Operations management in the Flexible Packaging industry is an asset
- Solid understanding of MRP systems

Remuneration:
- $70,000 / Year
- Bonus variable based on Company and individual performance
- Standard extended benefit package
