Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate in English orally is required
- Completion of secondary (high) school graduation is required
- 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook in an established restaurant is required
- Completion of Apprenticeship or Training in Professional Sushi Making is an asset
- Work experience in a Japanese restaurant and/or knowledge on Japanese Cuisine is an asset
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods with minimal supervision;
- Cook and prepare appetizers such Butakaku, Tako Wasabi, Sangen Tonkatsu, and Deep-fried Soft Shell Crab;
- Cook and prepare various set menus such as Kamo Nanban Udon Set, Kakiage Udon Set, Saba Shio Dinner, and Hamachi Kama Dinner;
- Cook and prepare Donburi dishes such as Katsu Don, Gyu Don, Ten Don, and Kaisen Don;
- Prepare and present Sashimi, Sushi and Temaki Sushi;
- Schedule kitchen staff;
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, and order supplies and equipment;
- Clean and inspect kitchen and work areas;
- Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
