Qualifications:
Ability to communicate orally in English is required;
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required;
2 years to less than 3 years of related work experience is required;
Having knowledge of Japanese traditional ingredients such as black sesame, tofu, and red bean and/or experience in baking using these ingredients is an asset.
Job duties:
- Prepare dough for bread loaves, buns, donuts and danish;
- Prepare batter for cakes, tarts and choux;
- Prepare and make various cream and mousse for bakery products and desserts;
- Bake prepared dough/batter and present bakery products and desserts;
- Suggest/plan new products and bake samples, determine size of products portions, estimate food/ingredients requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies;
- Maintain inventory and records of food/ingredients, baking tools, supplies and equipment, and order them when needed;
- Clean and inspect kitchen and work areas
