We are seeking a dynamic educator to teach the Ontario Secondary School curriculum.  Candidates are expected of the following qualifications: 

  • Ontario Teacher's Certificate
  • A bachelor's degree in Education
  • 5+ years of experience teaching in secondary schools in humanities subjects
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Job Description

·       Plan lessons and instruct the students in the subject of history and geography using a systematic plan of lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field studies

·       Prepare subject material for presentation to students according to our approved curriculum

·       Design, implement and teach students via distance or online courses

·       Assess students’ abilities, strengths, and weaknesses

·       Prepare, administer and grade students’ assignments and exams

·       Evaluate students’ academic progress and discuss results with parents and school officials

·       Work with individual students to challenge them and to improve their abilities

·       Prepare students for standardized tests required by the province

·       Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and teacher continuing education workshops
